What is KYC?
KYC (Know Your Customer) is the process of verifying customer identities. It is essential for protecting your account against fraud, corruption, money laundering, and terrorist financing.
Why does KYC matter?
Completing KYC strengthens your account security. Verified users gain higher daily withdrawal limits and access to compliant trading. Depending on your region or payment method, additional verification may be required for extra protection.
How to complete KYC on the Websea app?
The step-by-step guide is shown below:
Step 1: Log in to your Websea app and tap the icon on the top-left corner to access your profile. Then tap KYC.
Websea identity verification includes Basic Verification and Advanced Verification. First, tap Basic Verification → Verify Now.
Step 2:
Select your country/region. Please note that restrictions may vary by location. Follow the on-screen instructions to choose the appropriate verification method. Make sure all information you enter matches your ID documents.
Step 3:
Enter the required information, making sure all details match your ID documents.
After completing basic verification, tap Complete advanced verification to unlock additional permissions.
Step 4: Advanced Verification
Go to the Advanced Verification page and tap verify again. You will be redirected to the Sumsub platform—follow the on-screen instructions to complete the verification.
Select your ID type and, following the instructions, upload photos of the front and back of your ID. Make sure all information in the photos is clear and legible.
If you see the message “Your data has been accepted,” your information was uploaded successfully. Please wait for the review to complete.
- Do not refresh or close the app during verification.
- You can attempt verification via Sumsub up to three times. If your application is rejected three times, a manual review will be initiated—please be patient.
Step 5:
If verification via Sumsub fails, you can tap Manual Verification. Follow the on-screen instructions to upload photos of your ID document.
Step 6:
Please upload a photo of you holding your ID (front side) with both hands, along with a sheet of white paper showing “websea.com” and the date today handwritten on it.
After completing these steps, Websea will review your information as soon as possible. Once approved, you will receive a notification via email or in-app message. Be sure to check your registered email and app notifications for updates.
